During the national lockdown, we were contacted by HSCP and various housing associations requesting emergency food parcels and learning packs.

Before funding became available to support this endeavor, we were able to get food parcels from local foodbanks and took on a local church’s Covid Relief Initiative as they were closed and unable to meet the demand. With the help of 7 additional volunteers, we delivered 396 food parcels across NE Glasgow and the Southside with all referrals being from statutory agencies because they weren’t making home visits and their client lists increased drastically with unexpected unemployment. When the foodbanks became inundated with requests, we had to prepare our own food parcels at first through a couple of one off donations and then through some small emergency funding grants.
